SoapBox 5th Birthday Party!

The SoapBox 5th Birthday Party last week at 46 & York in Parnell was a blast!

SoapBox turned 5 on the 1st of April and we celebrated at our monthly Liquid Networking event with drinks and a birthday cake! Five years ago, 11 people met in a cafe in Ponsonby after I sent around an email to a couple of people I knew saying “surely there’s a more Kiwi way of doing this networking thing.”

We now have 10 groups in Auckland and Tauranga, and Greenlane and Christchurch will launch this year with over 130 members so far. We’ve had 2 ‘Inspire the Fire’ events with almost 200 tickets sold and 5 pretty awesome Xmas parties, plus tons of great Liquid Networking nights and one helluva Halloween party.

I’ve had amazing support from some really special people – some that have been involved right from the first meeting – Amanda Watt, George Hulbert and Vicki Ammundsen. And I wouldn’t have an awesome website or be the only networking group in NZ with an App without Grant Difford of Waking Giants, Lisa Garrud of Isatrin and Dave Rouse of Easyforms.

Wonder what the next 5 years holds ???????? !?!
